Puglisi Egg Farms
Puglisi Egg Farms was founded in 1950 by Emanuel Puglisi after returning home from military service. With just over $4,000 in savings, Emanuel and his wife, Mary, purchased 20 acres in New Jersey, where the home farm still operates today. They built their first layer house with 2,500 hens, laying the foundation for what would become a multi-generational family business.
Today, the third generation of the Puglisi family proudly continues Emanuel and Mary's legacy of producing quality, nutritious eggs.
Three Generations of Family Farming
Growing Through Generations
By 1984, the farm had grown to 140,000 laying hens serving grocery stores and restaurants throughout New Jersey and parts of New York. Emanuel's sons—John, Michael, and Paul—joined the business and continued its growth after their father's retirement.
In 2008, the family expanded by purchasing a Delaware farm that now houses more than 1.2 million hens and employs approximately 45 people. Today, Puglisi Egg Farms supplies eggs to customers across the United States.
Caring for Hens and Communities
Hen care and environmental stewardship have been at the heart of Puglisi Egg Farms since the beginning. Those values continue to guide the family as they care for their flocks and produce safe, high-quality eggs.
The Puglisi family is also committed to giving back, supporting local food pantries, churches, and organizations like Little Sisters of the Poor. Their eggs have even helped feed U.S. troops overseas and supported humanitarian relief efforts in Haiti.
